Bad news? is it really? There is no more Lingland Juniors Polish Children Club!
It has not been exclusively Polish for quite a while anyway - children from other ethnic minorities as well
as English children joined us transforming our club into a very diverse, multinational bunch of football
enthusiasts. And then -
in May 2010 Mike Caws, a manager of a local all youth English football club Townhill
Emperors came to see us with an interesting proposition: ‘We have not enough children’
Mike said ‘no prospect of sustainability, we’ve got two options: close down the shop or
merge with another club. What about Lingland Juniors joining us?' Merging took place
2 weeks ago. A new football club was born, Townhill Lingland FC, an ultimate evidence
of the little migrants’ successful integration into the local community. The unanimously
elected chair of the club is Polish. Colours of the a-way kit are going to be white & red
which are the Polish national colours. All the children are happy. English parents see the
merging as an great opportunity. Migrant parents still can’t recover from this pleasant
surprise. So should they stop worrying about Britain being full when, thank God, some
people find that having them here is not too bad?
We wish Townhill Lingland FC a very successful season!

S.O.S Polonia is not an exclusively Polish port-of-call for support in Southampton.
We often hear a cry of s.o.s from local authorities and organizations who, alarmed
by the sudden inflax of EU migrants, try to understand what is going on.
If you would like to talk about your work with the Polish people or if there is anything
important that you would like to communicate to us - any message / announcement/ notice
/ publication - please let us know and we place it on the notice board in our centre or on
the Polish part of this website.

Why SOS Polonia
The beginning of a migrant's life in a new land is never easy. It is like making your way through a jungle of unknown laws and regulations, customs and traps.
Therefore we should share our knowledge and experience, draw comfort from each other and dispel fears.
This is why SOS Polonia are here.
Passports to a bright future for the diverse community in Southampton
7th of February saw a real invasion of Polish people in our centre. Many (in fact, too many) people turned up for the Polish Consulate Open Day in Southampton and the most honourable VIPs in this crowd were .... babies!!! Born in Southampton from Polish parents (in some cases just one of the parents was Polish) they were queuing orderly for their first Polish passport. Both Consuls were working with no break from 10 am to 5.45 pm and for the S.O.S team it was a real challange to organise this amazing parade of babies including 6 cases of double blessing: 6 pairs of twins! Is there something in the air of Southampton? Or maybe Polish residents have just doubled their efforts working towards the bright future of the diverse community of Southampton!
