January 17, 2009
Dear Friends, please do us a favour - if you happen to know any Polish person (your colleague from work? your employee? a friend in your school? a neighbour?) please let them know that the POLISH CONSULATE from London will hold an open day on Saturday 7th of February in our drop-in-centre S.O.S. We  would be grateful if you kindly help us to "broadcast" this message to any Poles in your area.  It may be  a great opportunity for Polish people to resolve any matters of a legal/administrative/nationality nature without going to London, loosing a day off work, queuing long hours etc

And here comes our note in (Polish) explaining how can our people  book an  appointment:

POLISH  CONFERENCE IN LONDON.
Barbara Storey

On the 25th of October Agnieszka, Monika and I went to London, to a conference organized by the Polish Consul General Robert Rusiecki for the main Polish organizations in the UK. The aim of the conference was to share our views experiences and discuss problems faced by the new  Polish Community
established in this country after 2004.

Delegates of the Polish Government were present so we had an opportunity to raise our concerns and give an overview of the current situation of  the  Polish people who work and live in our city.  We pointed out  how brave, how industrious and hard working are the Polish people of Southampton and we talked about our good relationship with  some institutions and organizations of the host comunity.

And of course we remember to mention how important for us, the Southampton Poles is to be reassured by our own authorities that we are not forgotten.
